Mary Lou Steinmetz Obituary

            Mary Lou Steinmetz, 90, of Milan passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Shady Nook Care Center in Lawrenceburg.  Mary Lou was born Thursday, June 27, 1929 in Milan, the daughter of the late Virgil “Red” and Beulah (Jolly) Smith.  She married William “Bill” Steinmetz July 17, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1979.  Mary Lou was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was former owner/operator of Steinmetz Insurance.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

            Mary Lou is survived by her son Dean Steinmetz of Delhi, Ohio; daughter Suellen Stamps of Fort Meyers, Florida; grandchildren Sam Craft, Becky Craft, and Taylor Ann Steinmetz; great grandchildren Ben and Nathan Craft, Makailla Bible, and Drake Peetz.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, and a daughter.

            Due to the Governor’s Covid-19 mandate, a private visitation will be held for Mary Lou Steinmetz’s family.  A public graveside service will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 18, 2020 at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery with Pastor Harris Long officiating.  Memorials may be given in honor of Mary Lou to the Milan Fire Department.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, Box 243, Milan, IN 47031, (812)654-2141.  Please reach out to the family through our website at www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message or memory.
