Alfred "Al" "Big Al" Schumann Jr. Obituary

       Alfred Charles “Al” “Big Al” Schumann Jr., 79, of Sunman passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side. Al was born on Thursday, March 1, 1945, in Cincinnati; son of Alfred Charles Schumann Sr. and Ruth Corine (Helvey) Schumann. Al served in the 173rd Airborne in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Al married the love of his life, Theresa (Parnell) Schumann, on February 20, 1982, and she survives him. Al worked at Monsanto as a shift mechanic. He was a lifetime member of the Moores Hill American Legion Post #209. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW where he was a member of VFW Post #6428 in Addyston, then later transferred to Milan VFW Post #6234. Al was a former Master Mason at the Masonic Lodge in Addyston, a member of The Grotto, and a past member of the Shriners. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going camping, boating, and antique cars. Al loved to do farm work, and he especially loved his cows. Most of all, Al cherished spending time with his family.

       Al will be missed by his wife, Theresa Schumann of Sunman; sons Alfred “Al” Schumann of Moores Hill, Eric Schumann of Cincinnati, and Adam (Chris Ann) Schumann of Sunman; daughters Heather (Kevin) Wenzel of Illinois, Holly Schumann of Friendship, and Carrie (Sean) Lambert of Moores Hill; sisters Joyce (Sam) Fehrman of Cleves, Patty Schumann of Bridgetown, and Peggy (Glenn) Dorman of Cincinnati; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

       Al was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Schumann Sr. and Ruth Schumann.

       Family and friends may gather in remembering Al from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill. A service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by the Moores Hill American Legion Post #209. Memorials may be given in honor of Al to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Moores Hill American Legion Post #209.
