Alton Wayne Evans

          Alton Wayne Evans, 60, of Moores Hill passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at his residence in Moores Hill. Alton was born on Thursday, April 20, 1961, in Batesville, Indiana; son of Burton and Florence (Jaehnen) Evans. Alton held multiple jobs during his lifetime working for the Moores Hill salvage yard, which he also owned, Union #374 boilermaker, Union pipefitters Local #392, and Evans body shop in Moores Hill. He enjoyed fabricating metal items, woodworking, antiques, fishing, fixing up and restoring his old cars.

          Alton will be missed by his brothers Ronald Evans and Roger Evans; nephew Jedidiah Evans (Fiancé Holly Varble); niece Sarah Singer (Greg); great-nephew Noah Singer; and two great-nieces Elodie Singer and Elana Singer all from the Moores Hill community, along with many friends, co-workers, and neighbors.

          Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Florence, brother Ricky Joe Evans in 1978, and sister-in-law Jacqueline Evans.

          Family and friends may gather in remembering Alton from 9 - 11 AM Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill. A service will follow at 11:00 AM with Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Burial will take place in South Sparta Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Alton to the South Sparta Cemetery or the Moores Hill Life Squad.
